Zuken opens mirror FTP sites to cope with unprecedented demand for CADSTAR 4.0

April 3, 2000. Since its launch on 21st March, CADSTAR 4.0 has created unprecedented activity on Zuken's dedicated web site for the integrated PCB design tool. Visitors to CADSTARWorld have doubled and requests for free downloads of the CADSTAR 4.0 demonstration version and its accompanying design viewer are up 400% to over 100 per day. To cope with demand, Zuken has set up two mirror servers at Santa Clara and Seattle.

Zuken's Head of Marketing, Mark Ashton, said: "The 50 improvements that we made to CADSTAR with this latest release have been tremendously well received by the market. Perhaps it's not so surprising, because they were all driven by customer comments collected through research. However, the massive surge of interest in the product did take us a little by surprise. The new mirror sites will ensure that no-one is kept waiting for their evaluation copies and viewers. We apologise to any customer who has experienced delays in getting their copies."
