CADSTAR
on-line user forum for exchanging ideas
February
5, 2002. Zuken has launched an online CADSTAR user forum at
www.zuken.com/Linkz.
It allows all customers for the PC-based, printed circuit board
design toolset to exchange ideas, information and views on CADSTAR
or any other PCB related topic. Available to all customers on a
maintenance contract, it is the first official forum of its type
and provides a single point of contact for the CADSTAR community
to exchange ideas. The forum will also provide Zuken with a valuable
medium from which to gain a better understanding of customer requirements
so that these can be taken into account in the ongoing development
of CADSTAR.
Head
of CADSTAR Business Unit at Zuken, Mark Thompson, explained:
"The number of CADSTAR licenses grew by a third in the last
year, boosted by 44 major improvements that delivered much greater
functionality and ease of use in the CADSTAR 5.0 release. We've
reached the 15,000 licenses milestone and have received a growing
number of requests to set up this on-line forum. The breadth of
depth of design experience amongst CADSTAR users is enormous and
we wanted to help the user community share this knowledge as another
way in which they can extract the best possible productivity and
value from the product. Informal groups have been around for a while,
but there is now and official site which will be fully supported
by Zuken."
