February 22, 2002. Zuken has made the CADSTAR parts library for printed circuit board (PCB) design solution available online, enabling designers to access symbols, footprints and parts information instantly from any location.

The service, available to CADSTAR maintenance customers, is designed to speed up the design process by eliminating the need for components to be created from scratch. Each library file links the CADSTAR schematic symbol to the PCB footprint, including all mapping files. Gate and pin-swap information is also provided so that users can make immediate use of the library information without needing to modify it. URLs for the manufacturers' web sites are also shown.

Full compatibility is guaranteed because the parts have been created using manufacturers' data to the IPC Standard. From this initial release, the libraries will increase in the coming months to offer a wider range of parts.
