Novacad becomes new CADSTAR distributor

July 2004 , Zuken announces that Novacad, based in Southern France, has joined its European distribution network for the desktop PCB design solution, CADSTAR.

CADSTAR is a Windows-based tool suite for PCB design that spans schematic capture, placement, routing, library creation and management, signal integrity, EMC analysis, 3D verification, and production of manufacturing data.

Novacad was founded in June 2004 by two members of Zuken staff, who combined bring 28 years of experience in CADSTAR sales and support to the new venture. Robert Gianotti, Application Engineer, and Philippe Biran, Managing Director of Novacad, have been working together successfully since 1990, and are now joined by Alain Gillet, who will be responsible for training and OLE development for CADSTAR.

Commenting on the creation of Novacad, Philippe Biran says: “Novacad was founded to improve customer service. It is the continuation of eight years of work by us as part of the European Zuken organisation, serving the South of France. As a CADSTAR distributor, we will be able to concentrate completely on sales, support and training for CADSTAR in the region, improve the quality of service to our customers, and to strengthen the presence of
CADSTAR in the market. We will be able to undertake customized developments of the solution, and offer consultancy and hot-line assistance.”

He adds: “Today, Novacad already has an install base of more than 440 customers and almost 1,000 licences. CADSTAR is a recognised brand in the CAD/CAM market, offering the best price/performance ratio. CADSTAR fulfils a broad range of needs for electronic conception, from simple to complex multi board designs. It supports a number of functions originally only available with high-end tools, like 3D capabilities, signal integrity analysis, high-speed routing, variant management etc. With a powerful tool like this, we are very confident in becoming a successful enterprise.”

Novacad will be covering France and the French speaking areas of Switzerland and North Africa.
