Zuken
announces P-CAD to CADSTAR migration tool as part of ongoing commitment
to reduce costs associated with the transition from legacy EDA
packages
February
22nd, 2005 - Bristol, UK - Zuken and its newest technology partner, LogicSwap, have recently launched a new
migration solution that allows users of P-CAD to
transfer PCB design data, schematic databases and corporate libraries
to CADSTAR.
This solution, along with a range of other migration modules, is available as a result of a partnership between EDA interface provider LogicSwap, and Zuken. This is a move to address migration concerns related to the preservation of customers’ legacy EDA data, by providing solutions and services that accurately and reliably migrate design data, including EDA libraries. New tool evaluation decisions such as whether or not to abandon legacy data and fears about the loss of investment made in previous designs are no longer an issue, as the constraining factors that previously locked companies into a single supplier solution have been removed. A dedicated LogicSwap Support and Consultancy team, focused on managing complicated PCB designs, engineering schematics and libraries, is available to ensure a smooth transition from legacy EDA design packages.
Werner
Rissiek, Zuken Engineering General Manager, comments on the
partnership: “Robust migration tools are absolutely
paramount in ensuring that our customers achieve one hundred per
cent design integrity when migrating. LogicSwap’s knowledge
of companies’ design migration requirements enables them
to provide a customized solution for specific data translations.”
“For
organizations with legacy designs that need to be kept up to
date, investment recovery is critical. Using LogicSwap modules,
these companies will be able to migrate to solutions that will
carry them to the next decade”, continued
Rissiek.
Additional migration solutions are also available for OrCAD Capture
and Layout, GenCAD Support, Gerber file recovery and Bi-Directional
EDIF support for Schematic databases. Currently LogicSwap is in
the process of developing solutions for migration from Protel and
PADS - to be announced in the near future.
LogicSwap has been providing migration solutions to CADSTAR users
for over four years and is fully endorsed by Zuken as the preferred
provider for migration links to CADSTAR, Zuken’s desktop
PCB design solution.
LogicSwap’s
P-CAD to CADSTAR Module is available now and is priced from $3000.00.
