The PCB Interface for Inventor is designed to plug into CADSTAR adding additional functionality and are easily accessed from the CADSTAR interface.

Product Description
A fully bidirectional PCB interface for Autodesk's Inventor enabling the physical aspects of a PCB (IDF or CADSTAR Format) design to be Imported, Viewed, Checked, Modified and then Exported.

Each component imported is stored within an Inventor based component library. This allows modification of the basic models stored within the PCB file to accurately reflect more complex shapes such as connectors. These modified shapes are automatically used in future imports.

If AutoCAD and CADSTAR are installed on the same system, this updating may take place in "real-time", without any file transfer enabling the designer to seamlessly switch between AutoCAD and Cadstar whilst designing the physical layout.

The PCB profile and Areas are stored within standard Inventor Sketches allowing full editing.

Component placement may be adjusted using Constraints, the Inventor Move tool or the new PCB Component Placement Editor.

Documentation of the PCB may be completed with full part information and Component Ident display within Drawing Views.
