T-In & T-OutSimple T-Out and T-InOnce you have routed Trunks in your design using the Trunk Router it
is possible to simply modify the path of a Trunk. This
can be done by clicking the left mouse button at a point in the Trunk
that you wish to modify, with the manual route icon selected. The
Trunk Router will then be started at the point you selected with one half
of the Trunk drawn in outline mode and the other half with a dynamic end
ready for routing. Action
preview shows you the section of Trunk that would be removed in
outline mode during this operation. The
operation of finishing at another position in the Trunk is known as T-In
to an existing Trunk. The
example below shows simple modification of Trunks using the T-Out and
T-In functionality.
T-In adding a Trunk Via PatternYou can T-In to an existing Trunk in the same system on a different
layer by adding a Trunk Via Pattern. The
Trunk Router automatically inserts Trunk Via Patterns where required.
The example
below shows T-In to an existing Trunk on a different layer by inserting
a Trunk Via Pattern.
T-In to an existing Trunk Via PatternYou can also T-In to a Trunk Via Pattern on the same system. The
example below shows T-In to an existing Trunk Via Pattern.
Shrink and Extend of Trunk endsYou can also dynamically compose and de-compose the end of a Trunk that
is connected to a set of pins. In
the example below the Trunk End Router is set to have Continuous un-ticked.
With the
pointer icon selected on the toolbar you can dynamically shrink and extend
the end of the Trunk. The Trunk is decomposed
and composed dynamically.
With Trunk End Routing set to Continuous the Trunk End Router will also
re-route the ends as you shrink and extend the Trunk. The
example below shows Shrink and Extend with the Trunk End Router.
Note: This functionality is also available for a width change for a Trunk. Note: When moving Trunk terminals you can also start the Trunk Router using the 'R' key on your keyboard.
